Stress Tests

In cardiac diagnostics, a stress test helps us learn more about how your heart functions under various levels of strain. You might recognize this test from a variety of media as someone running on a treadmill while connected to monitors.

By studying your heart as your body works harder, we see how well your heart pumps blood. This test allows us to see whether there’s a lack of blood supply flowing through the arteries on the path to your heart.

  • SPECT
  • PET CT

Cardiac Diagnostics Tests

In order to determine the best treatment for your heart or vascular condition, we conduct thorough cardiac diagnostics to understand the issue. At Texas Cardiology Associates of Houston, we conduct a broad spectrum of diagnostic tests to gain clear insight into your issues. This allows us to prescribe the most efficient and effective treatments.

Heart Rhythm Monitoring

With a heart rhythm monitor, we record the electrical activity of your heart. This allows our physicians to identify irregular rhythms, also known as cardiac arrhythmias. Cardiac arrhythmia is one of the most common heart disorders patients experience. We use an array of heart monitoring methods to record your heart activity.

  • Holter monitoring
  • Event monitoring
  • Remote monitoring
  • Continuous telemetry monitoring

Pacemaker and Defibrillator Monitoring - Remote or In-Office

At Texas Cardiology Associates, we offer remote and in-office capture in addition to the programming of heart rate and rhythm from an implanted device. These devices include a pacemaker or Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (ICD).

Ultrasounds and Dopplers in Cardiac Diagnostics

In cardiac diagnostics, ultrasounds and dopplers allow your physician to assess how your heart functions. In doing so, they note the presence of irregularities as well as many types of heart disease.

  • Abdominal aortic aneurysm screening
  • Arterial doppler
  • Carotid doppler
  • Echocardiography
  • Transesophageal echocardiography
  • Venous doppler

ECG - Electrocardiogram

ECG is a device that records the electrical activity of your heart on graph paper. With this diagnostic test, your physician is able to assess the rhythm of your heart, diagnose heart attacks or abnormalities, and identify poor blood flow to the heart.
